Don't know how to play "42"? You're not alone. We need people interested in playing Bunco, chicken foot, Mexican Train, Canasta, Bridge…and of course, we are always glad to find new "42" players, too. We will be having a Bunco tournament on Wednesday, August 25th at 10:00. The sign-up sheet will be at the front desk at the Center.

We will be celebrating our seniors on Friday, August 20th  at 11:30 in honor of National Senior Citizen's Day.

Our Tai Chi class will be starting August 5th in the Paluxy Room.  The class will meet once a week on Thursdays for eight weeks from 5:30-6:30. The cost for each class is $10 and payment may be made per week, per month or for the whole eight weeks. We still have one or two possible openings, so call the Center and ask for Alice for more information.

Someone had expressed interest in us taking a group to Fossil Rim. We are checking into a discounted rate and should have more details in next week's article. If anyone thinks they might be interested, please call the Center at the number below and ask for Jan.

We celebrated July birthdays last week with entertainment by Margie Hartsfield. Sarah Luttrell was our oldest, with Zula Hunter close behind. Our youngest was birthday girl, Jackie Smith.

Dorothy Gibbs Lewis has blessed us the past few days with dinner music on the piano. It has been really nice and we hope she will continue for a while.

Visitors to the Center last week were: Jay and Norma Wright (friends of the Stacy's), Dennis and Sandra Ramsey, Randy Mac, Fran and Charlie Thomas, Leo Hurr of Granbury, Peter Koushiafes and Steve Dupuis. We hope to see them all again soon.

Activities at the Citizen's Center beginning on August 9th are: exercise, Wii bowling and Wal-Mart shopping on Monday; needlework and ceramics on Tuesday; health screening and Dollar General shopping on Wednesday; exercise and David's grocery shopping on Thursday; Bingo and Brookshire's grocery shopping on Friday.  Besides the scheduled activities, there are games, puzzles, quilting, "42" and visiting going on every day.

If there is an activity or outing you would like to see at the Center, please feel free to make suggestions.
